Create a Beautiful Handmade Holiday Card with Pattern Paper and Stamping

Hello everyone – let’s see how to Create a Beautiful Handmade Holiday Card with Pattern Paper and Stamping
I was looking at some gorgeous Christmas paper that I wanted to use for today’s card. I did not want to chop it up or hide it behind an image. Check out what I came up with so you could see the beautiful scene.
Today’s Project
When I saw this paper I wanted to use I had an idea and I didn’t know if it would work. I thought I would take a tree image and stamp it onto the pattern paper to make a simple card. I was also going to stamp the sentiment directly onto the pattern paper. I found a simple tree that I thought would go with the pattern paper. I decided to use markers to color the tree before stamping it. I pulled out my markers and colored away. Then I stamped it onto my pattern paper. Needless to say you could not see the tree. I think this is because the pattern paper was somewhat dark and the stamped tree just blended into it. That meant I had to shift and stamp the tree and fussy cut it out then attach it to my paper.

While I did not get the look I wanted this way the stamped tree becomes the focal image and the pattern paper create the background. A simple sentiment and some silver gems finish off the card. When I enlarged a section of the card with the sentiment my last few words have wispy edges. I must have had some lint on my stamp or my ink pad. Bummer!

I love nontraditional colors for Christmas so this purple paper has been fun to play with. Here is another idea using the paper for another purple Christmas card. This paper also has some Santa images. Check out this purple Santa card.
