Good Morning Everyone ~ Want to see my take on the Eastern Thanks?
Well today is my last day with my friend. I am not sure when I will be coming back for a visit. It will depend on my schedule and her schedule.
In April we could order a new suite that will be in the upcoming Annual catalog. It is called Eastern Palace. I had mixed feelings about this suite but started seeing some beautiful cards. I broke down and ordered it and it came in last week. I decided to play with it for my post today.
The suite uses 3 of the new In Colors. I chose to use the Fresh Fig color on my card today. It also has some stickers that fit on the shapes as well as a few borders. I chose to use one of the borders on my card today. It also came with matching framelits. These framelits do no cut out the shape but instead cut out shapes in a panel. I used one of the shapes but used my snips to cut the connecting pieces from the panel so I had a flower shape.
The idea for the layout of this card came from a layout for a scrapbook challenge. I like the layout and decided to use it for my card. My card base is Very Vanilla and I cut a smaller panel out of Very Vanilla also. Using a piece of Fresh Fig card stock I cut a rectangle and then cut the rectangle at an angle. The angle was attached to the panel. The stickers in the Suite have borders so I used one of them to follow the bottom angle. Using a scrap of Vanilla I stamped the flower shape with the Fresh Fig ink. The matching framelit was used to cut it out. I needed my layers so I used some Gold Foil paper and cut out one of the smaller shapes and then the smallest shape is cut out of Fresh Fig card stock. The shapes were layered onto each other using glue dots to get a flower shape. This flower was then added to the upper left hand corner of the panel with a dimensional. The flower at the bottom was created by cutting the connecting pieces of the shape from the square to release the flower shape. I used some scrap Vanilla to stamp the circle element and emboss with gold embossing powder. The sentiment is part of the set so I stamped it in the center using the Fresh Fig ink. These 2 elements were layered and then added to the panel using dimensionals. Here is my completed creation.
