Hello Stampers – I have an idea inspired by the catalog for how to use strips of card stock for a fun frame idea today.
Are you like me and end up with lots of skinny strips of card stock when you cut down your card stock for panels? The annual catalog had a great idea that I decided I had to try.
The Pretty Prints suite has some great products. I love using the Sun Prints pattern paper is gorgeous. It makes the perfect background for this card.
I saw a card on page 38 of the annual catalog that I had to try. I was intrigued by the woven frame and thought you might want to see how to do it. I created this video to show how you can make the frame also.
It may be hard to see the corners in the video so here is a close up of the corner.
Ferns were all over the paper and the embossed card front so I used the fern from the Pretty Prints stamp set to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope.
I love using frames on my cards. Here is an idea where I used blending brushes to create a colorful frame around my image. Here is another idea where I actually used squares and wove them for a fun element.
The measurements are so easy for this card. Check them out below.
Measurements
Card Base: Basic White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
Starry Sky: 1/4″ x 5 1/8″ – 4 strips and 1/4″ x 4″ – 4 strips
Sun Prints pattern paper: 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
Basic White: scrap for stamping and die cutting
