Mermaid spinner for Polkadoodles Crafts
Hello everyone – I recently ordered some spinners and knew I wanted to use them on the mermaid for the Mermaid spinner for Polkadoodles Crafts card idea.
I thought it would be fun to use a spinner on the mermaid so she spins and looks like she is swimming under the sea. Those spinners really have a lot of action to them.
Today’s Project
I started with the underwater scene and shrunk it down to fit on a card front and printed it on my cardstock. I used a variety of colors of alcohol markers to color floor of the ocean. To give the appearance of being underwater I used several shades of blue to sponge the cardstock. I made the edges darker to give it a more realistic look. The background uses one of the digital papers from the mermaid collection. I also used it behind the sentiment. I colored the mermaid and fussy cut her out. I then put her on a spinner and added her to the card front. When the card is flat she stays still and when you lift the card she spins like she is swimming under the sea.
The sentiments came from a digital sentiment file. I chose 2 different ones and put them together! I colored the fish with alcohol markers that would like fish deep in the ocean. The coral are all different colors to show the different variety in the digital image.
I have had many different favorite images from Polkadoodles. I loved the flowers I used on the Mother’s Day card. I still smile at the cute animals on this kid’s birthday card.
