Mixed Media Monday #1

Mixed Media Monday #1

Mixed Media Monday

Hello everyone – I have a new series for you today with the Mixed Media Monday #1 idea.

I purchased a set of 3 watercolor small booklets awhile ago on the premise of using it forMixed media and clusters. I was never able to use them so I decided to use one day of the week for Mixed Media. I enjoy playing with mixed media to improve my skills and thought I would share it with you in case any of you have ever wanted to play with some of these ideas.

Today’s Project

I began by creating a watercolor background using my watercolor inks. I used the wet on wet technique. After it was dry I then added some stamping using some stamp sets I had. I then chose an image and stamped and colored it.

The stamping used several Arden Creative Studios stamp sets I had. I off stamped to take some of the ink off so the black was not so harsh. I also only stamped some of the stamp for a distressed look. I used my pure color pencils to color the flower and leaves. A vellum doily was added behind the flower for some extra interest.
