Good Morning Everyone ~ Origami Christmas, what is she talking about?
Well I managed to spend a lot of time in my craft room as well as do some knitting. I have 2 cards using a technique I saw on You Tube. I will share them later this week. I still have a few design team projects I have to get done so I will work on them today.
A few years ago at Convention I received an Origami Christmas tree. I ran across it the other day and decided to use it to create my card today. I had to take the tree apart to see how it was made. The designer had used 3 different sized circles cut from dsp. I was able to use my framelits and circle punches to cut out the circles I needed. You then fold the circle in half several times. You open the circle and refold the circle pushing the sides into form a triangle. Do this with all 3 circles. You do this with each circle. Once you have all your circles you insert the tip of the biggest circle inside the middle folded circle glue it in place. I just played with how far to insert the large one until I liked the look. Repeat with the middle circle being inserted into the smallest circle. This gives you your tree shape. I also took some glue dots and stuck the sides down. You do not need to do this but I wanted a cleaner look. I punched a Modern Label punch from Early Espresso. This is cut in half and then glued in the bottom of the tree to make the trunk. I used my scalloped oval punch to punch some edges from Shimmer paper to add to my tree as garland. Using gold and red glitter paper I punched some circles to be the decoration. A star was punched from the gold for the top of the tree. Softly Falling embossing folder was use to emboss the front of my card. I attached my origami tree. All I needed to do is stamp the sentiment and mount it for my card front. Here is my creation.

Thanks for visiting me today. It has gotten cold here over the weekend. Time to pull out the blankets to stay warm when I am sitting and knitting. Have a Marvelous Monday and what did you think of my Origami Christmas?
