Hello Everyone ~ I played with the adorable platypus from the Postcard Pals from Stampin’ Up set for my adorable card today.
Well I got my car inspected and it is all set for me to go get tags on Wednesday. I also took Bijou down to meet the sitter who she will stay with this weekend. Then I went to my first Book Club meeting last night. I did manage to get my one swap completed so my Fancy Fold organized swap is all done! I am glad that one is done. I have to make some videos today. I am also going to a birthday lunch for a friend, and I have conference call in the afternoon. If I have time I will work on one of my general swaps. I have my idea and stamp sets just need to choose my colors! The colors will be based on the ribbon I have. I may do the same card using different colors to use the ribbon I have. Even if I get the images stamped I can work on punching the pieces so all I have to do is assemble it.
I am again working my way through the second Catalog Journey. Up today is the Postcard Pals stamp set. I love this set for cards for the girls. Today I used the cute little platypus from the stamp set. I stamped him using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then I used the Watercolor pencils to color him in. I did not add water to the coloring as the ink for the image would bleed. To add some interest to my image, I used my blender pen and the ink in the lid technique to add and some Balmy Blue ink around the image. I then took my cute little platypus and mounted him on Early Espresso. The background is a piece of Balmy Blue card stock with the Seaside embossing folder which was mounted onto a Whisper White card base. Before I attached the image, I used the Layering Ovals and cut out one of the ovals. I then used the next size down and cut out the center of the oval giving me an oval frame. I added this to the upper left hand corner for a little bit of a fun element. The image was then added to the front of the card base using dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment using Balmy Blue ink and punched it out using the Classic Label punch. Here is the completed Postcard Pals from Stampin’ Up creation.
