Hello Ladies ~ are you ready for a Sale-abration blog hop?
Well I hope you do not get this flu going around! It hit Jess and I both on Sunday within hours of each other. I guess we should have expected it since Zoie brought it home from school and a few weeks later Remi got it. It was just a matter of time before she and I got it. It was a bummer we both had it at the same time. Thank goodness Zoie was in school and Remi was at the other grandmother’s so we could both sleep.
Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop. This week we are focusing on Sale-abration. We can choose anything in the Sale-abration catalog to use on our card. I just got the Avant Garden stamp set and I have seen lots of fun cards using it. I saw one that I liked that uses the other image in the set and I decided to use the lotus looking flower for mine.
I stamped the flower with Versamark and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. After I had it embossed I used the ink and sponges to apply color. After I was done, I took a paper towel and wiped the ink off of the flowers. As you can see my images do not pop like they should. Any one have any hints how to get the ink off? I obviously am not using the right technique so let me know what I need to do. After that I added some of the dots from the set using the Old Olive ink.
For my sentiment, I stamped the Thanks from the Watercolor Wishes card kit stamp set using Calypso Coral ink. I cut it down and mounted it onto a piece of Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. This was then added to the card base using dimensionals.
When I was checking out my challenge blogs for tomorrow’s card I ran across a Sale-abration challenge at SUO Challenges. I am entering my card in that challenge also. Here is my completed creation.

How soft!! Great technique with the embossed images as a resist! Beautiful!
Gorgeous sponging, and I love the soft look of your emboss resist. Perhaps there was not quite enough embossing powder and this caused the specks? It does look lovely on your card though, and just perfect for our Sale-a-bration challenge!! So glad you joined in the fun at SUO.
I the the heat emboss resist technique. Your card is lovely. Hope you are feeling better. Thanks for playing along with the SUO Challenge.
