#ShopYourCraftStash Birthday Blossoms

Hello Stampers ~ I went way back to 2007 for  my #ShopYourCraftStash Birthday Blossoms creation today.

My plans got waylaid yesterday.  I was listening to a training video and Remi called.  She talked to me for about 30 minutes.  That totally blew my schedule.  By the time I finished the training video it was late afternoon.  I headed to my studio and only had time to make my card for today.  That means I will be working on videos and cards today.  I am hoping to get 2 videos created this morning and then later this afternoon I can work on some cards.  That will leave 1 video for Sunday and the rest of the cards.

How are you coping with quarantine?  If you are like me you are starting to look for other ways to pass the time.  I am here to help you.  My Inspiration in the Mail tutorials will solve your dilemma!  I have designed Card Classes to go that are perfect for you to spend some time being creative!  Each month I will use one bundle to create 3 or 4 cards.  The cards will be designed for all levels of stampers. Each tutorial will include written directions in a downloadable pdf AND a video with step-by-step instructions showing you how to make each card.  Once you purchase the tutorial that is designed for the type of stamper you are, you will be sent an invoice.  Click on the photo below and choose the one that fits your needs!

For my #ShopYourCraftStash creation today I went back over 10 years for something in my stash.  How many of you remember the Watercolor Crayons?  How many of you still have them?  Well I pulled them out to play with them.  To tell you how long ago it was I had to search for a video to see how to use them!  Since the colors listed on them we no longer have I decided to swatch each color and see if it matched what we currently have.  I was amazed to find that of the 2 containers of crayons I have each one had at least 4 matches to current colors.  I began by stamping the flower and leaves onto Shimmer paper using Staz-on.  Then I used the watercolor crayon to trace around the image just inside the stamped lines.  I chose to use the Real Red, Regal Rose, Yoyo Yellow, and Taken With Teal.  These colors match Real Red, Blushing Bride, Pineapple Punch, and Pretty Peacock.  Using an aqua painter and water I spread the color around on the stamped image until all the crayon was dissolved.  I set the images aside to dry and I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and embossed it with the Polka Dot Basic embossing folder.  I used a piece of the retired Real Red grosgrain ribbon and attach it at the top of the embossed panel.  I used Tear & Tape to add the embossed panel to a Real Red card base.  The Pansy punch was used to punch out the flowers and the leaves were fussy cut.  I attached the leaves to the flowers using glue dots.  The flowers were then arranged onto the card base and when I was happy with the placement I attached them using glue and dimensionals.  A bow was tied using the same ribbon and added to the ribbon at the top with glue dots.  Here is the completed #ShopYourCraftStash Birthday Blossoms creation.

Can you guess what retired product I used to color the flowers and leaves? Find out what I used to create the #ShopYourCraftStash Birtrhday Blossoms creation.

  1. I just loved doing the April Card Class To Go-Sailing Away. Your videos were so easy to follow and the PDF gave the measurements I needed to cut the paper before I began. You gave step by step directions and included any pitfalls I might encounter along the way. Thanks so much for a wonderful, first time experience of purchasing an on line class to complete at home. It was just like being in your studio doing the cards with you. BTW, the cards are beautiful!

    • Thanks Barb! So glad you liked the class. Good to know everything was helpful!

    • What fun doing the April class Sailing Away. I decided while I was cutting, I would cut enough for 4 cards in each design. Wow, I have 16 gorgeous cards done in less than a day. The pdf sheets were easy to follow and made assembly a breeze. The videos are good to watch before getting started. I am looking at my dsp supply to see what I might try these cards again.
I am looking forward to the next online class! I miss creating with Robbie in person, this is the next best thing.

      • Thanks Betty Ann! I miss creating with you also. Great tip to cut for 4 cards at the same time!
