Snowman Fun: Blended Ink Backgrounds and Snowy Texture
Hello everyone – I am using winter ideas this month for Mixed Media Monday and this Snowman Fun: Blended Ink Backgrounds and Snowy Texture is my first creation.
There were several items that inspired me on today’s mixed media page. I saw a reel where someone used watercolor pens to create background and I knew I wanted to try that. I also received a free winter punch outs in an order I placed. Those 2 ideas were the beginning of this idea.
Today’s Project
I started by making my watercolor background. I chose 3 different watercolor pens and used her technique to create my background. When it was dry I used a snowflake stencil and texture paste to add some adorable snowflakes in the background. I also stamped some snowflakes across the background between the stenciled snowflakes. To add more texture, I pulled some cotton from a vitamin bottle to use as snow.
Before the texture paste dried, I sprinkled on some crystal glitter and gently pressed it into the paste. To finish off the page, I punched out a snowman from the punch out page and added him to the page using foam adhesives.
