Sunflower Fancy Fold Card Tutorial 🌻 | Turning a Place Card into a Beautiful Card Design!
Hello everyone – I have a fun idea for Sunday ideas with the Sunflower fancy fold card tutorial – turning a place card into a beautiful card design.
Have you ever seen something and had an idea as to how you can use it on a card? That is what happened when I found the place cards on the CutCardStock website. When I saw them I knew they would be perfect for a fun interactive element on a card front.
Today’s Project
I was prepping to make my card for today and ran across an envelope flap fold layout that would be perfect for the place card. I had this idea when I saw the inspiration card that the place card would be a great element to use to hold the envelope flap down. I made my card just like the sample I saw but there are ways you can modify it. If you don’t want the interactive element, you can use a regular card base and a pattern paper layer and put the flap underneath the pattern paper. I did run into several problems but I worked them out and shared them with you in the video. I love using a place card for this idea.
The place card is actually made from metallic cardstock giving the card a little shine. The dies used for the sunflowers are actually for daisy type flowers but if you use sunflower color cardstock they make great sunflowers also.

I am always looking for new interesting fancy folds. I took this fancy fold that usually used a strip of cardstock and instead I used a border die for the strip. This one also uses an envelope flap idea in a different way.
Details for today’s fancy fold
gold cardstock – 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
natural cardstock – 5 1/4″ x 8″ scored at 4″
scraps for die cutting
brown cardstock – scraps for die cutting
green cardstock – scraps for die cutting
yellow cardstock – scraps for die cutting
pattern paper – all over fall floral pattern – 3 13/16″ x 5 1/16″
rust tone on tone pattern – 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
