The Paper Plunge – cake

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well I am headed to airport this evening to pick up Michaela.  She had to come to the east coast for her job so she came a little early and is making a side trip down to see Remi.  She is excited to be able to get to see her when she is still basically brand new.  I am sure we will have a fun weekend!

The Paper Plunge challenge is today.  This week our challenge is all about using your brayer.  When I saw the challenge I had this idea to use my stencils to brayer on some color.  I pulled out my star stencil and gave it a try.  Well it did not work as the stencil was too thick.  I then decided to use a post-it note and my punch and create my own stencil.  I gave it a try and it worked.  I then made other stencils as I wanted my stars close together at the top and farther apart at the bottom.  Here is a picture of my post-its I used.

Don’t you love all those pieces I used!  It was so much fun creating them and then strategically placing them.

I needed an idea for the layout so I checked out my challenge blogs.  I found a great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

I thought this was perfect for my stencil idea.  After I had my background created, I just needed to add my sentiment.  Here is my final creation.

We would love to see what you do with your brayer.  Grab it and play along with us at The Paper Plunge.
Thanks for visiting me today.  I will be crocheting like crazy today.  Jess has a photo shoot with the girls on Sunday and I have to finish the hats she wants for it.  The hardest part will be the pom poms.  I found a tutorial that I am hoping will help me.  Have a Fabulous Friday!
