Happy Friday Stampers!
I am busy getting ready for a yard sale tomorrow. I am hoping to sell some of my retired sets. I became a demo over 10 years ago and have almost every set I ever bought. I need to clean out as I am not taking it with me when I move in 2 years. Wish me luck!
Today is our Paper Plunge challenge. Our challenge this week is all about the retiring items. We were to create a project using some of the retiring items. I have several items that I was sad to see go.
When I saw this challenge I started thinking about which of my retiring items I could use. I think the one I will miss the most will be the chevron background. I love using the large background stamps to only stamp part on a background. I took the stamp and using a sponge dauber and applied Smokey Slate ink. By using a sponge dauber, you get a softer look than if you apply ink from the pad directly to the stamp. I did not pay a lot of attention to making sure I got ink on evenly. I was going to for a soft random appearance so I just sponged it on quickly. I then stamped it onto my card stock.
I then started looking through my stamps to see what else I could use. I saw my poppies stamp and knew I wanted to use it on my card. I inked it up the small spray on the right side with Basic Gray ink and stamped it onto the left side of the card stock. My friend who I make these for showed me a photo she had taken of her poppies blooming in her yard. They were orange – I thought poppies were red. I thought she would enjoy a card with poppies that were orange like the ones in her yard so I colored these with markers.
I then added some of the Tangelo Twist stitched satin ribbon to the bottom of my card. I attached the layer to the card base. I tied a bow and used glue dots to stick to my ribbon. Here is my final creation.

So what retiring item will you miss? Grab your supplies and play along with us at The Paper Plunge. We would love to see what you will miss.
Thanks for visiting me today. I have a lot to get done today. I am hoping I can get it all done as Jess was sick last night. Have a Fabulous Friday!

Great card! I am going to miss that Poppies stamp too! Waaaaa…. such a sad time of year!
Poppies come in several colors – our CA poppies are a very bright orange – next door neighbor has them in his yard and of course the seeds spread to our yard! Your friend will love the card. Sadly I did not get this stamp but do have my Chevron background stamp…being a hobby demo, I can keep anything that I love – and I DO!!!!! WONDERFUL design! Hope your yard sale helped you!
