Hello everyone – for Day 3 of my Growing in Unity time I had to use the Unity Stamp Company Chirp Up stamp set.

This is my second post for today. Scroll down to see my first one.

Look at that cute chick image. Isn’t she adorable? She makes the cutest cards and is easy to color since the image is small.

Today’s Project

When I received my pattern paper I had chosen this image as one I wanted to play with. I had ordered the Fall Watercolor Splendor pattern paper and I found some patterns that were perfect for this adorable little girl. I stamped her and then used my Derwent colored pencils to color her in. I kept the coloring simple as it is easier for these detailed images. I chose 3 different patterns that coordinated to make the layers. I needed a yellow as the background of the yellow dotted paper. All my yellows were not the right shade as the dotted paper had a hint of orange to it. I decided to blend on some orange ink to see if I could get it to match better. I was pleased with the final look as it matched so much better. I used some circle dies to cut out the image layers. So that the whole image layer did not take up the entire front of the card and hide all the pattern paper I attached it so the right edge hung off the card. I trimmed off the extra and it was perfect!

I love the colors of this striped paper. I paired it with 2 polka dot patterns that went with it. To finish off my card I added some red matte dots in an arc around the top and bottom of the circle element.

Unity has some great animal stamps. I used this cute chick to make a card. One of my favorite animal images is the highland cow I used to make this idea.
