Petal Parade for CutCardStock
Hello everyone – look at the various colors of cardstock uses to make the Petal Parade for CutCardStock flower!
This card was inspired by an idea I saw from Penny Black. I loved the look of the card I saw so I shopped my stash to see what products I had I could use to recreate my version of the card.
Today’s Project
The first think I needed to make was the background layer. I had a die that cut out a pattern I decided to use. I had some difficulty cutting it out as my cutting mat needs to be replaced. I stuck with it and finally got all the little pieces cut out. I backed it with a pretty aqua color. To cut out my flower I used several shades of pink and orange for the flower and a coordinating green for the stem. I sponged on some darker ink to give some depth to the flower.
Don’t you love how pretty the card is? That cut out background with the color peeking through adds just the right touch. To finish off the card I added some silver dots.
Using a background for a single flower stem is a great way to make a card. This card uses some hexagon shapes to create a background. You can also use other die cuts as a background for your flowers like this card.

The single stem flower really stands out with the die cut panel behind it. The Petal Parade for CutCardStock is a great example of how the various colors of CutCardStock can make beautiful cards.
