Using gilded leafing to create a background
Hello everyone – see how Using gilded leafing to create a background lets you create the look of gold veins in your paper.
In one of my Lives I decided to try something to see if it would work. I was so surprised that you can create the look of gold veining in your paper using gilded leafing. It does take some practice but it is fun to play with. I created an ink smooshed background using watercolor paper and a homemade ink smoosher then added lots of water to blend it around.
The gold veins were added using lines of glue that you let dry. The lines are then tacky and you can burnish the leafing into the lines. Here is how I finished off the background into a card.

The card uses minimal supplies. Here is what you will need.
