Weekend Sketch Set

It’s Fridayyyyyyy!!!!!!!

I am so excited it is the weekend. I am headed to my girlfriends tomorrow for some much needed girl time. I am sure we will be exhausted after all our talking.

This sketch set has some interesting twists to it. I decided to use the Splitcoast color challenge. This was a tribute to the soon to be retired In Colors. You were to use Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, and Tangerine Tango. It was a challenge as I did not have any of our retiring Designer Series papers that had Tangerine Tango in it. This posed a really difficult time to incorporate the color but I was able to include it on 2 of my cards. There was also a challenge on the Stampin’ B’s blog to incorporate a flower on your card. I was able to do that on all of the cards also.
The first card uses the sketch from Paper Therapy. As part of the challenge we also had to use paper piecing. I used my designer series paper and stamped the flower on it and then cut it out. This is a little different from my normal style. What do you think of it? Here is the sketch and my first creation.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Fifth Avenue Floral Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, white, Bella Rose DS, Raspberry Tart DS Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Palette Noir Black Accessories: black grosgrain ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), sponge dauber, sticky tape, dimensionals

My second card used the sketch from Sketches by Tamara. This is a new site I found on the The Daily Dare blog. This is a site that posts various challenge blogs you can find on the web. I liked the simplicity of this design and decided I could use this one to get some Tangerine Tango on the card. This is an interesting card and I may use the layout and use some of my retiring designer series paper. Here is the sketch and my creation.

The third card uses the sketch from the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge. This was a simple sketch and is a good one to use up some of your patterned paper. I love the bow on this one. I used my new Bow Easy that I got from Sharon at No Time To Stamp. I love the bows you can make with this tool. Head over to her blog and check it out. Here is the sketch and my creation.

The last card uses the sketch from Our Creative Corner. I had fun doing some watercoloring on this one. I do have to say I had used a piece of white paper and stamped my image and started watercoloring. All of a sudden I realized my ink was bleeding. I redid my image on watercolor paper. Here is the sketch and my creation.

Hope you enjoyed my cards today. It is supposed to rain all day today so I am glad I cut my grass yesterday. Hope you get some stamping time in this weekend. Thanks for looking and have a Fantastic Friday!

  1. WOW!! I am in awe!! Every single one of your cards are GORGEOUS! Love your take on the Twisted Thursday sketch, and you did a fabulous job of paper-piecing. If this isn't your usual style, you ought to try it more often, because this turned out beautiful! Thanks so much for playing! Now, which one of your stamping friends are you going to ask to join in on the fun so you can win a free stamp? Huh? LOL Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful work.

  2. Well since I am not crazy about the mixture of those colors, I give you credit for extending yourself and trying them. I liked the layouts, would like to see them in different color combinations. I love the last card though. The design and water colored flowers were very pretty. Sandy
