When Pigs Fly Piggy Card

Happy Monday stampers ~ Today’s creation is the cutest When Pigs Fly Piggy Card!

Well yesterday 2 other ladies and myself went to lunch and then to see Mama Mia.  This was put on by the local theater group.  They have had some great shows and today’s was no exception.  The cast did a fabulous job with the songs.  The theater had an issue with their air conditioning so it was pretty hot in there.  You would never know from the performance we received.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.  This by far was my favorite performance we have seen.

Today’s card was one I wanted to try when I saw that flying pig in the This Little Piggy stamp set.  I wanted to have him flying in the sky so I used my cloud Pattern Party decorative mask and some Balmy Blue ink to create a background of clouds.  A strip of the Silver metallic edge ribbon was added at the bottom.  This panel was attached to my Balmy Blue card base.  I stamped the flying pig using Powder Pink and colored his feet with a Crumb Cake marker.  Since there are not matching framelits I fussy cut him out.  I can’t wait to get my studio set up so I can use my Silhouette to cut out the images that I do not have framelits for!  This adorable pig was added to the card front using dimensionals.  Silver Glimmer paper and the Pretty Label punch was used to punch out the shape.  The sentiment ~ which by the way is perfect for this image ~ was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White using Balmy Blue ink.  I used the Pretty Label punch to punch out the sentiment to get the same shape but smaller.  To do this I put the sentiment into the punch and had the left hand side close to the stamped sentiment.  When you punch it your sentiment will be off center but then you reinsert the image from the top and have the sentiment close to the right hand side.  After you punch it you may have to trim up some of the scallops so they are clean but you end up with a smaller shape than the punch.  I added my sentiment to the Silver Glimmer paper using glue dots.  The layered sentiment piece was then attached to the card front on top of the ribbon using dimensionals.  Here is my completed When Pigs Fly Piggy Card.
