Happy Saturday stampers – I have another hidden gem idea for you with the Anything Goes Saturday – distress crayons creation.

I was watching some You Tube videos about distress crayons and remembered I had some of those. I searched my craft room and found them. I don’t think I have ever used them or if I did it wasn’t very often.

Today’s Project

Distress Crayons are a water reactive crayon you can use for many ideas. I decided to play with them for today’s card. I used them like watercolors by adding water to them. I then painted my image with a water brush. I only have 15 colors and one set was neutrals so I was limited color wise. I had a red, yellow, and green so I used those for my flowers. I did not like the yellow as it was too fluorescent looking. I experimented and colored over it with purple. It gave me an interesting color.

The flowers were done with the red crayon. It looks pink to me but then a lot of reds look that way depending on the formula used to make it. Check out the circle leaf sprays to see the color I got with yellow and then purple over it. To finish off the card some gold gems were added.

Here is the video for my play with the distress crayons.

It has been many years since I played with the distress crayons. Here are 2 cards that use them to color over a stencil and to create a background. This card also uses a stencil and the crayons to make a pattern.
