Sunday Ideas – reverse watercoloring

Hello everyone –
We all know that watercoloring is coloring an image. But in this idea we are not coloring an image but the background and leaving the image uncolored.
Today’s Project
I was inspired by an idea online and had to give it a try. I loved the look of the finished card I saw and wondered how hard the technique would be. It wasn’t hard but there were some challenges I had. The first was ending up with lines where I did not put enough water down so there was a designated end to the water with the ink. The other was tight spaces and trying not to get the ink on the image. This is a great way to use your reinkers.

I wanted some ombre coloring which was a challenge but I kept working at it and finally got it figured out. One thing I will look for is a small brush to use for those smaller places as there are spots where there is color missing. I finished it off with some silver gems.

I have used this stamp set once before. Check out this idea using the coordinating stencil to do some ink blending.
