Mixed Media Monday #19 – witch hat

Mixed Media Monday #19 – witch hat

Hello everyone – a fun Halloween idea for you with the Mixed Media Monday #19 – witch hat idea.

For some reason I have a love for using witch hats for my Halloween cards. I pulled out a die that makes a mini card and used it as just the hat for my mixed media idea.

Today’s Project

I began by creating a blended background using a purple and orange ink cube. I thought my orange would be darker and probably should have used a different color. After I blended the background, I decided to use some bat washi tape from my stash and add it at the top of the page. Then I die cut and assembled the witch hat. It was wider than the journal page so I added it at an angle.

The page was bare with just the hat so I used another die from the set and cut out a spider. I added it at the top to look like it was coming down from the washi tape. Still needed something so I pulled out a bat punch and added some bats flying around the hat.

Here is another card I made using the same hat die. One of my favorite home decor pieces is this witch hat I created using a kit over 11 years ago. I still have it and put it out in October.
