Mother’s Day/Spring Hop at Laura’s Loft

Hello Everyone!

Today we have a special hop at Laura’s Loft.  This month our theme is Mother’s Day/Spring.  I love the Spring so I chose to use that idea for my cards.

For my first project I chose to use a color challenge from House of Cards color challenge.      

I thought the colors matched Picked Raspberries from Kit #1, Festive Berries from Kit #11, and Mowed Lawn from Kit #2.  Now that I have my colors I chose to use the Altenew set Golden Garden.
I inked up the stamp using the mini inks.  It is easy with the mini pads.  I then stamped it onto my panels.  I layered the panel with a matching pink and added a bow.  When I put my stamped panel on my card it still needed something so I pulled out leaf spray and stamped it with the Mowed Lawn in a random pattern.  Now I could add my stamped panel.  Here is my finished creation.

My second card I wanted a Spring tulips scene.  I began by creating my cloud background using Stormy Sky from Kit #9.  After my background was created, I needed some grass.  I pulled out one of the leaves from the stamp set and repeat stamped it to get my grass.  To make my tulips, I used the Brushed Art Floral stamp set from Altenew and I stamped them using shades of the same color.  I chose Scattered Straw from Kit #4.  To get the multicolored look, I stamped one stamp then stamped the other one over top.  It has some light and dark colors to it.  To do my purple tulips I chose to use Shaded Lilac from Kit #4 for the light color and Wilted Violet from Kit #15 for the darker color.  To do the stems, I stamped it first with Cracked Pistachio from Kit #13 and then I offset it slightly and stamped it with Lucky Clover from Kit #15.  I repeated the process using the leaf stamp.   After my tulips were stamped, I cut them out and used dimensionals to attach to my card.  The only thing missing was a sentiment.  I found the perfect one in the Hero Arts set Acts of Kindness.  I stamped it with white on black card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  My card was finished.  Here is my completed project.
