Sending Hugs for CutCardStock

Hello everyone – creating a fun window using different shades of cardstock was the inspiration for the Sending Hugs for CutCardStock creation.
I was inspired by a card I saw online and decided to make my version. I loved the window idea and thought the different shades of blue CutCardStock were great to achieve the look I wanted.
Today’s Project
CutCardStock has many shades of the same color. This makes creating cards so easy. I checked my stash and I had 2 shades that were perfect for the look of clouds in the sky. In looking at the card now it would have been fun to add some silver to the edge of the clouds to give them a shiny look. Some leafy branches were added along the bottom. I am thinking it would have added some interest if I had sponged some ink on the bottom layer. Do you ever come up with ways to improve your card when it is finished?

I tucked a sun behind the bottom cloud layer to add a sunny feel to the card. To give some interest to the sun I sponged the tips of the rays with a dark yellow and added a ring in the center to define the sun more.

When you cut out the die the center is left. You can use the center as the background layer for your focal image like this idea. Here is another idea where pattern paper was used for one of the layers.
