Happy Easter Everyone – a soft pastel Stampin’ Up Oceanfront Sea Grasses card is my share for today.

After spending a week at the beach, I saw all kinds of plants and animals. The card’s layout was inspired by one I saw online and the soft pastel colors were what I saw each day.

At this time of year with warmer weather it is fun to play with beach/ocean stamp sets. Here is an idea for an underwater scene. At the beach this past week we saw all kinds of sand crabs. This card uses some fun crabs for an underwater creature card.


Here are the details for today’s card.

Measurements

Card Base:  Crumb Cake 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ 
Soft Suede layer:  3 3/4″ x 5″
White Image layer: 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ and scrap for sentiment
Coastal Cabana foil sheet: 1 1/4″ x 1 1/2″

Step by Step directions for the Stampin’ Up Oceanfront Sea Grasses

  • affix all stamps to blocks
  • fold and burnish the card base
  • using the White image layer stamp a second generation stamping of the water stamp using Pool Party ink on the left hand side of the panel centering it top to bottom
  • stamp the sand using a second generation of Crumb Cake making sure to overlap the edge of the water
  • clean the sand stamp and use a second generation stamping using Balmy Blue for the sky making sure to have the flat side of the stamp at the bottom and overlap the stamped water
  • use a second generation stamping of the tall wheat grasses using Crumb Cake in the lower left hand corner below the sand
  • with Shaded Spruce use a second generation stamping of the tall blades of grass over top the wheat grasses previously stamped
  • glue the White image layer to the Soft Suede layer
  • wrap linen thread around the right hand side of the White and Soft Suede panel 5 times making sure to secure the thread using Tear & Tape on the back
  • add the panel from above to the card base making sure to center it side to side and top to bottom
  • stamp the Friends are Like Seashells using Coastal Cabana ink onto a scrap of White then cut down to fit the sentiment
  • add the sentiment layer to the Coastal Cabana foil layer using glue dots
  • add a dimensional to each side of the sentiment panel and secure over the linen thread making sure to center it top to bottom
  • add 3 Coastal Cabana gems to the bottom of the grasses
