Sunshine & Strips: Sunflower Card with a Woven Paper Accent
Hello everyone – With the cooler temperatures we know that Fall is close and with that I have Sunshine & Strips: A Sunflower Card with a Woven Paper Accent.
I love crafting with sunflowers at this time of year. Nothing says Fall to me than a field full of sunflowers. Add them to your card bring a smile to the recipient’s face when they open the envelope.
Today’s Project
I was inspired by nilkaworld on Instagram and all of her cards using strips of cardstock. She had one that use 2 strips and I decided to use 3 strips and weave them together at the bottom. I had a new set that was sent to me and it had a sunflower and messy circle image. I knew the messy circle would allow the woven strips to be visible also. I used alcohol markers to color the sunflower. The strip colors were inspired by the sunflower colors. What a great fall idea!
I went shopping in my stash to find a sentiment I could use with the sunflower and found one in a Not2Shabby set I got in a Fall bundle last year. The image is a great size and is easy to color with your favorite coloring medium.
Here is a card idea where I used some sunflower paper I had. This idea is a fun way to stamp your sunflower image and add some splatter stamping underneath.
About today’s creation
white cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
scrap for stamping and die cutting
