Trick or Treat for Sunday Ideas
Hello everyone – I thought these 2 cuties would make a great Halloween card so I used them to create the Trick or Treat for Sunday Ideas.
I often struggle with ephemera made using people. When I ran across this layout I knew the 2 girl trick or treaters would be perfect for the card.
Today’s Project
The layout was the beginning of this card. I knew I could use the circle doily to make the foundation for the 2 adorable girls. I had some paper in my paper pad I had not used yet so I cut the pieces I needed. I added them to the black mat but wanted a way to hide where the 2 pieces 0f pattern paper were joined. I pulled in a piece of the pink cardstock and made a strip. When I laid out the card the black mat was too plain. So I embossed it with a spider web embossing folder but you could not see the web. I decided to try the Lisa Horton natural pearl ink and lightly swiped it over the raised area to highlight the web. I usually use a white card base but there was so much white and black that the pink was the perfect choice for the card base.
You can see a close up of the web in the first picture. I love how the ink makes the web look like a real spider web on the black cardstock. Check out the doily foundation edge behind the 2 girls. It adds just the right touch of interest behind those cuties.
