Art Impressions for Die Cut Divas

Hello everyone – our new challenge is all about reduce, reuse, or reuse and I created this idea for Art Impressions for Die Cut Divas.
This month our sponsor is Art Impressions and we have to create a project with a reduce, reuse, or recycle item. I really had to think about this one.
Today’s Project
I wasn’t certain what I was going to do for this challenge. Then while sitting at my counter I spotted some cotton packing I had taken out of a pill bottle and had an idea. The Baby Keepsake set from Art Impressions has an adorable lamb in it. It hit me that I could use the cotton packing to make the lamb fluffy. I began by using small pieces of the cotton and attaching it with glue. It was a sticky idea but I stuck with it and love the way it turned out. I then used some alcohol markers to color his ears and hooves. There was also a basket and some flowers that I colored and then combined to form a basket of flowers.

I wanted a foundation for the images so I pulled out some layering shaped dies. There wasn’t a stamp set I liked so I got one from my stash. Isn’t this a great way to reuse the cotton from a pill bottle?

I have reused some previous packaging for another card. For this card I reused a packaging to create a container for a fish. This theme doesn’t mean you have to recycle. For this card I pulled out a scrap of texture paste trees. So look in your scrap pile and find a scrap you can use to make a card.
About today’s creation
white cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
scraps for stamping and die cutting
light pink cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
medium pink cardstock – scrap for die cutting
Products used to make the Art Impressions for Die Cut Divas idea
Baby Keepsake set – Art Impressions
Paper Hugs sentiments – Waffle Flower
Poodle Skirt cardstock – CutCardStock

This challenge can expand your skills as a crafter. It really gets you looking at things in a different way. I would have thrown the cotton from the pill bottle out if I had not had the Art Impressions for Die Cut Diva challenge.
Have a Terrific Tuesday!
