Mixed Media Monday #16 – Fall Basket
Hello everyone – a few new techniques were used to create the background for this Mixed Media Monday #16 – Fall Basket page.
I will be glad when the weather cools off and Fall will be here. I am getting in the mood for sweaters and soups! Using the Fall theme for my art journal pages is putting me in the mood for cooler temps and homemade soup!
Today’s Project
I saw a video where another art journalist had used ink and a baby wipe to create a background. I decided I would give that a try as I am just not happy with acrylic paint. I liked the look and will be using it again. After the paint dried I did some stamping with a distressed looking stamp. My next step was to add some texture paste. I wanted my paste to be colored so I used some acrylic paint to color it. When the paste dried I decided to try another idea I saw in a video. The person had used a credit card and some acrylic paint to add stripes on her page. I pulled out the same supplies and used them to add some stripes. I like this look and will be playing with this idea in a variety or ways.
I used a fun stencil from Arden Creative Studio that I felt complimented the sunflowers. The ephemera pack had a bushel basket filled with Fall things. It was perfect for my page. I also added some more ephemera pieces in the background.

I have been learning so much with the Mixed Media Monday projects and my finished products have improved. Look at my first project here as compared to today’s project. This project used a lot of different ephemera to create this idea.
