Mixed Media Monday #7

Hello everyone – Today’s Mixed Media MOnda #7 is all about green!
I did not start out to make this a green creation but I just kept working and it turned out to be lots of green items. All in all I like the look and could easily recreate it using other colors.
Today’s Project
The idea for this page in my art journal began with a package of rub on backgrounds. I then started grabbing items from my 40 & Market mystery box and adding them to my page. I combined several ideas from videos I had watched recently. This is how I am finding my style – trying different things I see I like to see if they will work for me. When I am almost finished I realized I had not used the gauze I wanted to try. It would have been great to put under the flower layer as they are lost with the background. I ended up putting it behind the butterfly which looks ok.

I was curious if the stenciling over the rub on would work or if it would not dry as it might be a layer of plastic on the top. It did work and not smearing as the rub on had a matte finish to it. I had a piece of paper lace that I put at the bottom of the frame. I like how it looks so I may need to get some lace to use.

For one of the other pages in my art journal I created a blue idea that you can see here. This page uses both blue and green for this idea.
