Mixed Media Monday #17 – Fall door

Hello everyone – look at this autumn idea for the Mixed Media Monday #17 – Fall door.

I was inspired by the door ephemera for this idea. I created a background and then just started layering the pieces.

Today’s Project

I started looking through my ephemera collections to see what I could find to use on my page. I found several pieces that I could blend with the door. I also had some scraps of pattern paper that I used to tear the edge of the strip to give it some texture. For the other scrap I used a doily die to cut out the shape. I used an orange to create my background then splattered on some brown. Next I added my pattern paper strip and shape. Then I layered on my ephemera.

The doily die was used to mimic the wreath on the door. I cut it out of some yellow and orange Fall pattern paper. The cute squirrel and acorn add a touch of fun to the scene.

This is one of my favorite mixed media pages. I love the frame and all the layers and the cheesecloth and lace add some texture. You can use your pattern paper to create a background like this idea.
