Retro Christmas Tree for Die Cut Divas

Hello everyone – I have a Retro Christmas Tree for Die Cut Divas to share with you today.

Today’s Project
I began with the Retro Christmas Tree die and stencil and sponged the edges of the tree. I did not use the stencil as it did not need it. The sentiment came from the Holiday Cheer stamps and die set. It was stamped with black and then die cut. I added a sheet of distressed gold behind the tree as it has little cut outs and the gold shines through. For my ornaments I sponged them with red, yellow, green, and blue – colors you would find on a tree. I also added some gold gems at the top of the ornaments. For my star I pushed it into my gold ink pad to color it. You have to let it dry or it will smear.

The distressed gold paper goes with the retro tree and gives it s fun vibe. If you don’t have a lot of colored cardstock, cut your image out of white and sponge on your color. I came in from the side which added a dark edge to the ornaments.

Did you miss my first post for the Christmas in April theme? You can find it here.
