Sunday Ideas – watermelon summer
Hello everyone – my newest card kit is all about watermelons and today’s card – Sunday Ideas – watermelon summer – uses the same products as the new kit.
With the heat of summer who doesn’t love a nice ice cold slice of watermelon? Using some watermelon paper and ephemera I decided to share a card with you to introduce my new card kit.
Today’s Project
I chose 2 of the pattern papers from the collections to make my card. I used the neutral green stripe paper as the background and then added the all over watermelon slices paper as the central image. I loved how the green striped paper highlighted the watermelon sliced paper. This paper has some great patterns in bright bold colors. I found some watermelon slices that I created an image panel to include in the kit. I also created some watermelon themed sentiments to also include. Here is an idea using all the products that are in the kit.
I used a doily as the base for the ephemera. The glass of watermelon juice and popsicle were perfect for the focal image. I also added a watermelon slice from the image panel I included in the kit. The sentiment is punched out with a 1 3/4″ circle punch. It is from the sentiment panel I included in the kit also. I finished it off with some burlap twine and a multi loop bow.
