Using the whole image for Sunday Ideas

Hello everyone – I have another card Using the whole image for Sunday Ideas this time.
A large image can be a challenge to use on a card. It can also be a further challenge if you have to fussy cut it out. I show you how for today’s post.
Today’s Project
For today’s idea I first chose my pattern paper. Since the image was large I needed to choose a pattern paper that had a pattern on part of it and a plain background. I found one that had a dark background and an image in the lower left corner. It would be perfect to showcase the image. It did mean that when I fussy cut the image I had to cut out the pieces in the middle that were not part of the image. It can be tricky but using a craft knife and mat can help with those small areas.

When I colored the image I used watercolor markers. I also added the dark brown at the base of the flower for some interest. I finished the card off with some gold gems.

Using large images in your card making can be a challenge. Here is an idea that uses a large image to create a scene. You can also keep it simple and use just a colored cardstock to set off the image like these daisies.
Details for today’s idea
white cardstock – 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”
brown cardstock – 4″ x 5 1/4″
pattern paper – flower spray in lower corner on brown background – 3 13/16” x 5 1/16”
Supplies you will need for the Using the whole image for Sunday Ideas card
Special Place stamp set – Unity Stamp Co
Brown – CutCardStock
Simply Natural pattern paper – Unity Stamp Co
dark brown, green, and medium brown markers
Gold gems

I am not a fan of fussy cutting and when there are tiny areas you have to use out I dislike it even more. The Using the whole image for Sunday Ideas had to have the pieces cut out as it would look strange with he dark brown background.
Have a Sensational Sunday!
