CutCardStock Savoy cotton cardstock for watercoloring
Hello everyone – I was in the mood to watercolor so the CutCardStock Savoy cotton cardstock for watercoloring is perfect.
One of my favorite ways to color my image is to watercolor it. I am still learning how to get the look I want but I love playing to see what I can do.
Today’s Project
I recently ordered the Savoy cotton cardstock as the website said it is good for watercoloring. I pulled it out to use to watercolor my image. This paper is heavy and has a nice surface to grab the watercolor. I stamped the image with Versafine pigment ink as it will withstand water. You need to make sure the ink is completely dry or it will smear. I used blue watercolor ink to paint the flowers. The center of the flower is yellow. I used a green for the leaves. To get the two tone on the flowers and leaves I painted them with the color first and then went back over the image with the same color again to give it a darker look.
I used a circle die to cut out the image I had watercolored. The background was created using a basketweave embossing folder. To add some interest to the background I added some strips of white cardstock in the upper left hand corner. I sprinkled on some silver gems for sparkle.
If you aren’t into watercoloring, choose colored cardstock and add some ink to get multi colored flowers like these. Using open dies and cutcardstock is a great way to add some ink to your images.
